HOW TO CHANGE A MILLING CUTTER?

To change a milling cutter, first, ensure the milling machine is turned off and all power sources are disconnected for safety. Loosen the drawbar or retaining screws that secure the current cutter in the spindle. Carefully remove the old cutter from the spindle, taking note of its orientation and any shims or spacers used. Select the new milling cutter appropriate for the desired machining operation and workpiece material. Insert the new cutter into the spindle, aligning it properly with the spindle taper. Secure the new cutter in place by tightening the drawbar or retaining screws. Double-check the tightness of the cutter to prevent any issues during operation. Finally, re-connect power sources to the milling machine and test the new cutter to ensure proper functionality before resuming milling operations.
